Sinhalese raṉga (9)
Clough’s Sinhala English Dictionary says Sinhalese word raṉga means “paint, colour, tint, dye; and ray of the sun.” It traces its origin to the Tamil root ar through the transformation of ar > ra > rañj > raṉga. The following words, related to Sinhalese raṉga, also originate from Tamil ar.
