     Turner’s A Comparative Dictionary of the Indo-Aryan Languages says Sanskrit word sū́rya means “the sun.” He also lists cognates of sū́rya as found in the other Indo-European languages and dialects:

Pali surya-; Prakrit sujja-; Lahndā and Khetrānī (dialect of Lahndā) suj; Sinhalese sivi; Sindhī sij̄usijuLahndā sijjhMultānī (dialect of Lahndā) sejj
