Sinhalese luṇu (21)

     Clough’s Sinhala English Dictionary says Sinhalese word luṇu means “fire and heat.” It traces its origin to the Tamil root aṟuttal through the transformation of aṟuttal > lavaṇá > luṇu. The following words, related to Sinhalese luṇu, also originate from the Tamil root aṟuttal.
