According to Clough’s Sinhala English Dictionary, Sinhalese word ańga means “limb, member, part, mode, manner, and body.” It traces its origin to the Tamil root aṅku through the transformation of aṅku > áṅga > ańga. The following words, related to Sinhalese ańga, also originate from Tamil aṅku.
