Sinhalese ṣṛińga (20)
Clough’s Sinhala English Dictionary says Sinhalese word ṣṛińga means “horn.” It also refers to “mark, sign, the top of a mountain, sovereignty, dignity, very sharp, and minutely fine.” It originates from Tamil aṅku through the transformation of aṅku > ṡṛiṅga > ṣṛińga. The following words, related to Sinhalese ṣṛińga, also originate from Tamil aṅku.
