akku > aṡ > áśman East in other Indo-European Languages (1)

    Turner’s A Comparative Dictionary of the Indo-Aryan Languages says the Sanskrit word áśman refers to a “stone.” He also provides the cognates of áśman in other East Indo-European languages:

Pali amhā; Apabhraṁśa aṁbha.

These cognates of áśman originate from Tamil  akku.
