     Monier-Williams’ A Sanskrit-English Dictionary says Sanskrit word sárva means “whole, entire, all, every, every one, all, everything, of all sorts, manifold, various, different, altogether, wholly, completely, in all parts, and everywhere.” Further, it indicates ‘not any,’ ‘no,’ ‘none,’ or ‘not everyone,’ and ‘not everything’ in negative cases. He also says it is etymologically related to other Indo-European languages. It includes Greek ὅλος (ólos) for ὁλϝος (olϝos) and Latin salvus. However, it traces its origin to the Tamil root iṟai. This iṟai changes into sárva in Sanskrit through the transformation of iṟai > ciṟai > sar > sárva. The following words, related to Sanskrit sárva, also originate from Tamil iṟai.
