Turner’s A Comparative Dictionary of the Indo-Aryan Languages says Sanskrit word rāddha means “accomplished and prepared.” The word rāddha is derived from the root rādh, meaning “accomplish.” The word rā́dhati means “accomplishes.” He provides the cognates of rā́dhati related to rāddha in other East Indo-European languages and dialect:
Pali rādhēti; Lahndā rāhaṇ; Awāṇkārī (dialect of Lahndā) rāˋvuṇ; Panjābī rāhṇā; Hindī rāhnā.
All these cognates and the following words related to rāddha originate from the Tamil root ār.
