Sinhalese gaṇa (29)
According to Clough’s Sinhala English Dictionary, Sinhalese word gaṇa means “flock, multitude, troop, tribe, class; priest; and wickedness.” It traces its origin to the Tamil root kaṇu through the transformation of kaṇu > gaṇá > gaṇa. The following words, related to Sinhalese gaṇa, also originate from Tamil kaṇu.
