   Turner’s A Comparative Dictionary of the Indo-Aryan Languages says Sanskrit word ukṣa- denotes “large.” It is from the root vakṣ, which means “grow.” He also provides the cognates of ukṣa- in other East Indo-European languages and dialects:

Pashai and Lauṛowānī (dialect of Pashai) ūṣ; Gulbahārī (dialect of Pashai) ūx.
