uṟu > urú in other Indo-European Languages (1)

     Turner’s A Comparative Dictionary of the Indo-Aryan Languages says Sanskrit word urú means “wide.” He also provides the cognates of urú in other Indo-European languages and dialect:

Pali and Prakrit uru; Kalasha and Urtsun (dialect of Kalasha) urúk.

All these cognates related to urú originate from the Tamil root uṟu.
