Sanskrit ajra (10)

    According to Monier-Williams’ A Sanskrit-English Dictionary, the word ajra is derived from the root aj. It means “a field and a plain.” It traces its origin to the Tamil root akaram through the transformation of akaram > ajra. The following words, related to Sanskrit ajra, also originate from Tamil akaram.
